So last year when I just found FMG I used to browse around the site alot, looking for shipping, payment terms etc. I accidently came across this article called Top 10 list- You know you're a beader when... that is too funny not to share.

Fantastic free tutorials! Beadweaving and Wirework!

   I have to admit I have lots and lots of free tutorials I bookmarked but never ever seem to get the time to make something from one of the links because I am alway busy with a new beadwoven design.
  So I have decided to share my top five (5) favourite free tutorial

• Sea Star by Alexargai . This tute produces a beautiful 3D Starfish with size 15/0 and 11/0 seed beads and a large wooden beads aproximately 10mm in diameter. 

• Brick stitched flowers. This was posted on The Craftster forum by beadizzygrl. Another fantastic tute that produces beautiful brick stitched flowers. Made with 11/0 seed beads.

•  Russian leaves made with St Petersburg stitch.  What can I say but this leaf is beautiful. After I saw a necklace on Flickr with a leaf I had to find a tutorial! And I found one written by Jennifer VanBenschoten, the Beadwork guide on About.com.

•    Woven Bracelet by Ruby's Beadwork. A gorgeous bracelet by Ruby made by Right Angle Weave (RAW) and Netting. Made with two colours of 11/0 see beads and 4mm beads or crystals.

• Crystal Unicorn Ladder Bead Necklace. I just love this necklace. It says "I am mysterious" to me. This is from Tammy Powley, the Jewellery making guide on About.com.

For all you wire wrappers (yes, you Cristina!) Beading Daily has wirework (beadweaving and stringing) tutorials. Even though I don't do wirework I have downloaded both of their free e-book about wirework and they have fantastic projects!

Contest by House of Gems on Flickr

On Flickr http://www.flickr.com/ there is a group called House of Gems Featured Jewelry Artists for.....you guess it! Jewellery Artists. Check out the group and join in the fun at http://www.flickr.com/groups/featuredartists

House of Gems is an online jewellery supplier. check out their website at http://www.houseofgems.com/.

After I was invited to join this group I kept on visiting to check out photos posted by members and what was going on in the discussion. I then found out that they group admin was planning a contest.

Here are the conditions and rules to this contest.

Grand Prizes (Two): $250 each, free merchandise of your choice.

Second Prizes (Two): $100 each, free merchandise of your choice.

Third prizes (Six): $50 each, free merchandise of your choice.

Winners must claim the prizes from http://www.houseofgems.com/ website.

1.Eligibility: Must be a member of House of Gems Featured Artists group at the time of posting pictures on flicker, who are 18years of age or older. No purchase from house of gems website necessary.

2. A) Participants must post a blog about the contest with a link to www.flickr.com/groups/featuredartists

B) Announce the contest at least one of these (Facebook, Myspace or Twitter) with a link to www.flickr.com/groups/featuredartists/

AND

C) Must mail the announcement and blog link tohouseofgemssm@yahoo.com

3. Overseas participants pay duties and taxes if any at destination country besides shipping charges.

4. Domestic shipments are free by first class mail unless other options were selected.

8. Winner will be determined by houseofgems, Inc. at the end of contest. All the decisions made by House of gems, inc are final not responsible for any type of liability.

9. House of gems reserve the right to shorten, lengthen, delay, modifies or cancels the contest under any circumstances at any time. House of gems, inc will announce regarding any changes made to the contest on flicker no individual notifications will be send.

10. No coupons and discounts are allowed with free shopping.
